Seems a few delivery trucks hit some bad weather... But they finally made it into town! The Ichie Store has just announced some playful new dino ichies that collectors may just love.     Next up, the Toy Pen has just received a very special and RARE plushie to celebrate this special day for the dragoras! Also they have released a few new kites.      Ever wonder what a dragora thinks? Then you may want to run down to the Library Store and pick up this new book!  And finally, the Battle Supplies have posted posters of this new shield! As it is a fairly new system, please take into consideration the following things: Remember that the point of giving critiques is to tell the author what is and is not working. Try to give solid, constructive criticism and praise. Saying, "This is good, can't wait for more." is nice, but not very helpful. Be specific about what you like and why. On the flip side, if you think something needs work, be specific. Try to give examples, and again, remember that the point is for the author to come away from your critique with information that will help them improve their story and/or writing. Also, submit at least a few sentences on the author’s work. A five word critique isn’t very helpful. Critiques are screened beforehand and abusive or purely negative submissions (such as personal attacks) will be deleted and reported to a mod. This doesn't mean you can't criticize, just that you must be constructive. ~The writers asked me to post this for you.~ Have fun! |

1st place: Inumo, The Birth of the Ban Hammer Inumo's ballad not only follows the rules to the letter, but creates a flowing story out of the normally mundane topic of forum moderation. This work tells the tale of brave mods forging a mighty Ban Hammer to combat a horde of forum trolls and their Sword of Flames. The story evolves with each verse and has a great sense of fun without losing the solemn history that a ballad often tells. 2nd place: Ruin, The Final Flight of Vester An entertaining, full, exciting tale. This is a true epic poem about a great battle and its consequences for all Ichua. Ruin uses a clever rhyme scheme that repeats words and concepts without restating them and so avoids redundancy. 3rd place: DemonFoxToy, Rise of the Hammer This is a well-written ballad with a lovely sing-song feel and an ending that made at least one judge want to “squee.” DemonFoxToy takes a cute yet irreverent look at just why Ole created the Ban Hammer in the first place. Congratulations to the winners! This week's format is short story. The topic is: Write the history or legend about one of the areas on the world map of Ichua. Good luck to all! |
